Accommodation

We'll provide accommodation for everyone at the venue. The venue features beautiful (technically historic by now) wooden huts with bunk beds. Bedding will be provided as well. There are showers at the venue, though you need to bring your own towel. We'll assign you a hut to sleep on arrival.

Attire

Keep in mind this is a countryside wedding. We'll be in the great outdoors most of the time. We therefore recommend arriving in a comfortable outfit, i.e. something you might wear for a leisurely hike or a walk. For the ceremony itself, bring something formal - there will be allocated time to get changed - but the degree of formality is up to you. As a point of reference, high heels is probably an overkill.

Wedding gifts

The greatest gift will be your attendance at the wedding. We mean it. But just in case you feel that's insufficient, we'll be more than grateful for any financial contribution towards the cost of the wedding. Our kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and we take our summer holidays in the UK every year anyways.

A word of caution - a typical Czech tradition is to give these contributions in cash envelopes on the wedding day. Think The Godfather (1972). If that - and the inevitable preceding struggle with a Czech bank machine - is fine with you, great. If not, then:

Travel arrangements

Your task is to get to Prague. We'll take it from there. The wedding venue is about an hour's drive away from Prague so you can potentially make it with an early morning flight on Saturday. But to avoid hassle, an arrival on Friday (or even earlier - up to you!) might be preferrable. Our flat can host up to eight guests in case you need a place to stay before we go to the wedding venue. We'll organise the transport from Prague to the venue on Saturday morning (departure around 10am) and back to Prague on Sunday morning (departure TBD).

Please do share your travel plans as this will make the organisation of this whole circus a lot easier.

Areál Garnataurus, Kounice 30,

Vlastějovice 285 22

The campsite was built in 1948 by the YMCA association under the leadership of Joe First in a "romantic Western style" (no, me neither). In 1953, the campsite was nationalized and operated by the Kovo trade unions, which continued to provide space for children. The complex became the main training site for camp leaders and medical staff for children's camps. The new name was created by the son of the campsite's owner when he was little. "Garnataurus" originated as a distorted version of the name of his favorite dinosaur.
